Advanced Hybrid Ablation Course

AtriCure is committed to providing the most recent and relevant education. We recognize the importance of this material as a key component in giving the HealthCare Provider (HCP) access to the knowledge and experience required to assure optimal safety and outcomes in the atrial fibrillation patient population. This section contains educational materials and activities intended to enhance the user’s experience.

The Advanced Hybrid Ablation Course was developed as a result of the published positive outcomes of Hybrid AF Convergent Therapy procedures and the FDA approval of the EPi-Sense Hybrid Coagulation system for long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation patients. This program focuses on the rationale, safety and efficacy of performing Hybrid AF Therapy.

This course faculty consists of Electrophysiologists and Cardiac Surgeons, many of whom were active in the CONVERGE IDE Trial. Attendee interaction, sharing of anecdotal experience and observations and group discussion is highly encouraged. This program is designed for Electrophysiologists, Cardiac surgeons, and Advanced Practice providers interested in the collaborative hybrid approach to treating long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation patients.

AtriCure recognizes the role of the Advanced Practice Provider (APP) is critical in assuring patients receive coordinated, multi-disciplinary care that follows evidenced-based ‘best practice’ pathways. Treatment pathways include thorough screening to identify atrial fibrillation (AF) patients, managing risk factors/co-morbidities, and referring patients to the appropriate care setting and therapy. These programs can be given on-site or online to single or multiple hospital networks.

“Comprehensive AF Patient Management - Integrated Clinic Services”
This one-hour program is delivered by an Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) who discusses the building blocks for a multi-disciplinary AF clinic, essential team members and responsibilities, and the rationale for Hybrid AF Therapy in the patient’s treatment protocol. The class is focused for any APP involved in the continuum of AF patient care.

“The Role of the Advanced Practice Provider in the Surgical Treatment of Afib”
This one-hour program focuses on the patient receiving concomitant AF surgical ablation while also undergoing open heart surgery. Many patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation, who are being treated for structural heart disease or having bypass surgery, fail to have their AF treated. APPs are given the fundamentals of the Cox MAZE IV procedure and importance of supporting the surgeon to provide a complete bi-atrial lesion set. This class is intended for any APP interested in pre, intra, and post-operative surgical ablation.
